Location permission control

  1. 1On Android: Open your device Settings, then go to Apps, then Uber, then Permissions, then Location.
  2. 2Choose 'Allow only while using the app' to limit location collection to when the Uber app is visible on screen or during an active trip. Choose 'Deny' to disable location services for Uber entirely (you will need to enter pickup and dropoff locations manually).
  3. 3On iOS: Open your device Settings, then go to Privacy, then Location Services, then Uber, and select 'While Using the App' or 'Never' to restrict background location access.

Data portability export

  1. 1Go to myprivacy.uber.com/privacy/exploreyourdata and sign in to your Uber account using 2-step verification.
  2. 2To explore an online summary of your data (trips taken, Uber Eats orders, etc.), browse the interactive summary on that page.
  3. 3To download a copy of your data, click the option to request a data file at myprivacy.uber.com/privacy/exploreyourdata/download.
  4. 4Uber will send you a notification by email or text when your request is received, and again when the file is ready to download.

Marketing communications opt out

  1. 1Open the Uber app and go to Settings, then Notifications, then Promotions and news to update your push notification preferences
  2. 2For more detailed communication preferences (including email), visit accounts.uber.com/communication
  3. 3Alternatively, you can unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time by clicking 'Unsubscribe' at the bottom of any marketing email from Uber
