Data access deletion request

  1. 1Go to Square's privacy request portal (Square profile portal) at squareup.com, or call 1-844-213-737
  2. 2Submit an access, deletion, or correction request for your personal data.
  3. 3Square will process your request in accordance with applicable law.

Targeted advertising opt out

  1. 1Navigate to any page on squareup.com.
  2. 2Click the 'Your Privacy Choices' link located in the footer of the page.
  3. 3Follow the on-screen instructions to opt out of targeted advertising or the sale/sharing of your personal data.

Marketing email opt out

  1. 1Open any digital receipt you received from a Square seller.
  2. 2Select 'Manage preferences' in the receipt.
  3. 3To unsubscribe from all businesses, go to 'Email preferences' and toggle off 'Receive offers & updates'.
  4. 4To unsubscribe from specific businesses only, go to 'Businesses visited' and toggle off offers and updates for each individual business.

Account deactivation

  1. 1Sign in to your Square Dashboard.
  2. 2Go to Settings > Account & Settings > My business > About.
  3. 3Select 'Deactivate your business'.
  4. 4Select your reason for deactivation, add any optional comments, and select 'Continue'.
  5. 5Enter your account password and select 'Confirm'.
  6. 6If 2-Step Verification is enabled, enter the verification code sent to your phone or authenticator app; otherwise check your email for the verification code.

Buyer profile data deletion

  1. 1Sign in to your Square Profile.
  2. 2Navigate to the account/profile settings area.
  3. 3Select 'Delete account' and then click 'Delete account' to delete your Square profile and all data associated with the buyer features.

  1. 1Sign in to your Square Profile at squareup.com.
  2. 2Navigate to your preferences and settings.
  3. 3Toggle off the option to receive digital receipts from Square sellers.
