Location tracking opt out

  1. 1On each mobile device where the Avis app is installed, go to the device's system settings.
  2. 2Find the Avis app in the list of installed applications.
  3. 3Turn off location/geolocation permissions for the Avis app.
  4. 4Also disable push notifications for the Avis app in the device settings to further limit data transmission.

Privacy rights request

  1. 1Go to the Avis Privacy Notice page at avis.com/en/legal-documents/privacy-notice.
  2. 2Scroll to the 'Contact Us' section of the privacy notice.
  3. 3Submit your privacy rights request (access, correction, or deletion) by emailing privacy@avisbudget.com or using the contact form linked in the notice.
  4. 4Include your name, contact information, and a clear description of the right you wish to exercise.

Sms marketing opt out

  1. 1Reply 'STOP' to any marketing text message received from Avis to immediately opt out of marketing SMS.
  2. 2Alternatively, log in to your Avis profile at Avis.com, navigate to the communication preference section, and select 'No' from the SMS Notifications option.

Marketing email opt out

  1. 1To opt out, reply to any promotional or marketing email from Avis with the word 'unsubscribe' in the subject line.
  2. 2Alternatively, email avisprivacy@avis.com to request removal from email campaigns.
  3. 3If you have an online Avis account, log in to your profile and select 'view/modify' to update your email preferences.
  4. 4You may also use the Avis Privacy Preferences form available on the Avis website to manage your email opt-out.

Data deletion

  1. 1Go to the Avis privacy policy page at avis.com/en/legal-documents/privacy-notice.
  2. 2Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the 'Contact Us' link in the footer.
  3. 3On the Contact Us page, select 'Privacy Questions/Concerns' from the 'What is your question about?' dropdown menu.
  4. 4Fill out the form with your name, email address, and a message requesting deletion of your personal data.
  5. 5Click 'Submit' to send your deletion request, or alternatively email privacy@avisbudget.com directly with your deletion request.

Biometric data opt out

  1. 1When making a reservation or checking in, do not enroll in or use the QuickPass or Avis First biometric identity verification services.
  2. 2Choose standard in-person check-in at the rental counter instead, which does not require biometric facial comparison.

Do not sell opt out

  1. 1Visit the Avis Privacy Notice page at avis.com/en/legal-documents/privacy-notice.
  2. 2Navigate to the U.S. State-specific privacy disclosures section (linked from the top of the notice for U.S. residents).
  3. 3Follow the instructions in that section to submit a 'Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information' request, or contact the Avis privacy team at privacy@avisbudget.com.
