Child account privacy management

  1. 1As a family manager, sign in to your PlayStation account online or on a PS4/PS5 console.
  2. 2Navigate to Privacy Settings (online: Account Management > Privacy Settings; PS5: Settings > Users and Accounts > Privacy).
  3. 3Select the child family member's account and adjust the privacy settings, including which settings the child is allowed to change themselves.

Account closure data deletion

  1. 1Open the PlayStation Family app and sign in.
  2. 2Select Settings from the bottom of the home screen.
  3. 3Scroll down and select Close Your Account from the bottom of the menu.
  4. 4Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the account closure request.
  5. 5Alternatively, contact PlayStation Support directly with your sign-in ID (email address) and Online ID to request account closure.

Profile privacy controls

  1. 1Go to Account Management at playstation.com/acct/management, or on PS5 go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Privacy, or on PS4 go to Settings > Account Management > Privacy Settings.
  2. 2Select 'Privacy settings' (online) or 'View and Customize Your Privacy Settings' (PS5) or choose the feature you want to change (PS4).
  3. 3Select the privacy feature you want to adjust (e.g., Gaming/Media, Friends/Connections, Personal Info/Messaging) and select Edit.
  4. 4Configure who can see your real name, profile picture, gaming history, online status, and who can send you friend requests or messages, then save your changes.

Profile preset privacy level

  1. 1On your PS5 console, go to Settings > Users and Accounts > Privacy.
  2. 2Select 'Adjust Privacy Settings by Choosing a Profile'.
  3. 3Choose a preset: Social and Open, Team Player, Friend Focused, or Solo and Focused based on your preferred privacy level.

Ad personalization third party opt out

  1. 1Go to the Third Party Ad Settings page at playstation.com/en-us/legal/third-party-ads/.
  2. 2Enter the email address associated with your PlayStation account in the form provided.
  3. 3Submit the form to opt out of SIE sharing your personal information with third parties for advertising purposes.
