Safesearch content filter

  1. 1Go to google.com/safesearch or open Google Search and go to Settings, then select 'Search settings'.
  2. 2Under 'SafeSearch', select your preferred level: 'Filter' to block all explicit results, 'Blur' to blur explicit images, or 'Off' to disable filtering.
  3. 3Save your settings. If you are signed in to your Google Account, the setting will apply across devices where you are signed in.

Data deletion

  1. 1Go to the Data & Privacy section of your Google Account at myaccount.google.com.
  2. 2Scroll to 'Your data & privacy options'.
  3. 3Select 'More options' and then 'Delete your Google Account'.
  4. 4Review the information about what will be deleted, then confirm your identity by signing in again if prompted.
  5. 5Check the required confirmation boxes acknowledging the consequences of deletion, then click 'Delete Account' to permanently remove your account and associated data.

Ad personalization off

  1. 1Go to myadcenter.google.com or navigate to My Ad Center from your Google Account settings.
  2. 2Sign in to your Google Account if prompted.
  3. 3Find the 'Personalized ads' toggle and turn it off to disable ad personalization across Google services.
  4. 4To also control personalized ads on partner sites and apps, visit adssettings.google.com/partnerads and turn off personalization there as well.

Activity history deletion

  1. 1Go to your Google Account at myaccount.google.com.
  2. 2At the top, select 'Data & privacy'.
  3. 3Under 'History settings', select an activity or history setting you want to manage (e.g., Web & App Activity, YouTube History, Location History).
  4. 4To delete past activity, choose 'Manage activity' and then select 'Delete activity by' to remove activity by date range or all time.
  5. 5To set auto-delete, choose 'Auto-delete' and select a time period (3, 18, or 36 months) after which activity is automatically deleted.

Partner site ad tracking opt out

  1. 1Go to adssettings.google.com/partnerads in your browser.
  2. 2Sign in to your Google Account if prompted.
  3. 3Turn off personalized ads on partner sites and apps to prevent Google from using your data to show personalized ads on third-party websites and apps that partner with Google.

Data export portability

  1. 1Log into your Google Account and go to the Google Takeout page at takeout.google.com.
  2. 2Google products that hold your data are automatically selected. Uncheck any products you do not want to include, or use the 'All data included' option to select specific data within a product.
  3. 3Select 'Next step' to proceed to archive format options.
  4. 4Choose a delivery method: 'Send download link via email', 'Add to Drive', 'Add to Dropbox', or 'Add to Microsoft OneDrive'.
  5. 5Select 'Create export' (or 'Link accounts and create an export' for Dropbox/OneDrive).
  6. 6When the export is ready, open the email from Google and select 'Download archive' (or the equivalent link for your chosen delivery method) to download your data.

Location history off

  1. 1Go to your Google Account at myaccount.google.com.
  2. 2Select 'Data & privacy'.
  3. 3Under 'History settings', select 'Location History' (Timeline).
  4. 4Toggle off Location History to stop Google from recording your future movements.
  5. 5To delete past location data, select 'Manage history' and choose to delete all or specific time periods of location history.

  1. 1Go to myaccount.google.com and sign in to your Google Account.
  2. 2Navigate to Data & Privacy, then find 'History settings'.
  3. 3Select 'Gemini Apps Activity' (also referred to as 'Keep Activity').
  4. 4Turn off the Gemini Apps Activity setting to stop future chats from being saved to your account and used for AI model improvement.
  5. 5Optionally, delete past Gemini conversation history from the same page to remove previously saved chats.
