Liability exceptions clarified for failed transfers

Section 3 now explicitly lists seven specific exceptions where the company is not liable for failed or delayed transfers, including insufficient funds, account holds, unauthorized transactions, third-party restrictions, system failures known to user, force majeure events, and other stated exceptions. This provides clearer boundaries on user recourse but potentially limits liability claims.

Effective: August 27, 2026

Notice period options for automatic payments

Section 2 now allows users to choose between 1-day or 10-day advance notice before automatic payments are applied to their credit card. Users opting for 1-day notice are automatically enrolled in 'Build Credit Safely,' but can change this setting in the app at any time. This gives users more control over payment timing.

Effective: August 27, 2026

Error investigation timelines for new customers extended

Section 4 now specifies that for errors involving Secured Deposit Accounts as a new customer, the company may take up to 90 days (rather than standard 45 days) to investigate complaints and up to 20 business days (rather than standard 10 business days) to credit the account. This extends the resolution timeline for new account holders.

Effective: August 27, 2026

Document incorporation clarified

The preamble now explicitly states that these EFT Terms incorporate and include three referenced agreements (Chime User Agreement, Credit Card Agreement, and Application Disclosure), with priority hierarchy established: if conflicts exist, these EFT Terms control over the Application Disclosure agreement. This clarifies the legal relationship between documents.
