Data retention training pipeline

  1. 1Navigate to your Claude account Settings.
  2. 2Select Privacy and turn off the 'Help Improve our AI models' toggle to stop new chats from entering training pipelines.
  3. 3Optionally, delete individual chats from your chat history to prevent those specific conversations from being used in future model training.

Conversation deletion

  1. 1Open the conversation you want to delete in Claude.
  2. 2Click the three-dot menu on the conversation.
  3. 3Select 'Delete conversation' to remove it from your history and queue it for deletion from back-end systems within 30 days.

  1. 1Anthropic uses analytics and marketing cookies on its websites that are not strictly necessary for service delivery. Users can control whether these non-essential cookies (analytics and marketing) are set via Anthropic's cookie settings. Necessary cookies cannot be refused as they are required for authentication and security.

Incognito mode privacy

  1. 1Claude offers an Incognito chat mode in which your conversations are not used to improve Claude's AI models, even if you have the 'Help Improve our AI models' setting enabled in your Privacy Settings. This provides a way to have conversations that are excluded from model training without changing your global privacy settings.
